Marty Dalton, of Stuart, had the best finish in the Des Moines Marathon for an Iowan since West Des Moines' Julius Rotich was second in 2005. Dalton ran the 26.2-mile course in 2:24:42 on Sunday.
"It's been my main focus all year," Dalton said. "I just wanted to go out there and run smart. Time wasn't my main focus."
